Seahawks vs Patriots game day guide: the Super Bowl LX rematch

By Kyle. Published 2026-09-05, updated 2026-09-05.

The season opens on a Wednesday night with the team that Seattle beat 29-13 in February, a banner going up over the north end, and the Patriots playing on a Wednesday for the first time in their history. Here is the whole day, from the 4 p.m. pregame show to the last train home.

The basics

Kickoff Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 5:20 p.m. PT (8:20 p.m. ET)
Where Lumen Field, 800 Occidental Ave S, Seattle
TV NBC (Jim Nantz, Cris Collinsworth; Kaylee Hartung and Melissa Stark on the sidelines)
Streaming Peacock, NFL+, and NBC through YouTube TV, Fubo, Sling and Hulu + Live TV
Spanish Telemundo and Universo
Radio Seattle Sports 710 AM and KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM (Steve Raible, Dave Wyman, Jen Mueller); Westwood One nationally (Kevin Harlan, Kurt Warner)
Pregame Football Night in America from Lumen Field, 4 p.m. PT, with Maria Taylor, Mike Tomlin, Jason Garrett, Devin McCourty and Mike Florio

Wednesday is not a normal football day, and 5:20 is not a normal football kickoff. If you are going to the game, that is a rush-hour arrival into SoDo. If you are watching, the game runs to roughly 8:45 p.m. on a school night.

How to watch

The game is on NBC over the air and through every live-TV streaming service that carries NBC, which is all of the major ones. Peacock carries the full broadcast for cord-cutters, and NFL+ carries it on phones and tablets. Outside the U.S., NFL Game Pass on DAZN has the international rights.

The team’s app streams the local radio call for listeners in the Seattle area, which is the way to hear Steve Raible if you are in the building or watching on a delay.

The line

As of Saturday, September 5, the consensus across the major books has Seattle favored by 3.5, with a total of 44.5 and a moneyline around Seattle -192, New England +160. The Patriots opened at +4 and the number has moved half a point toward Seattle since. For context, the Super Bowl closed with Seattle as a short favorite and the game went under.

Two notes. The line will keep moving through Wednesday as the injury reports land, especially on Nick Emmanwori’s status. And Washington allows sports betting only in person at tribal casinos; there is no legal online sportsbook in the state. We do not carry sportsbook advertising, and the numbers are here because fans ask, not as advice.

Where to watch in Seattle

The official watch party. Hometeam and the Pioneer Square alliance are running an Opening Kickoff Watch Party at Occidental Mall from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on game day, with a 25-foot screen, a beer garden, special guests, no cover, and open to all ages. It is three blocks from the stadium, so it doubles as the pregame spot if you have a ticket and the postgame spot if you do not.

Bars in the Seahawks Bar Alliance and nearby. Hatback Bar and Grille in SoDo has a 23-foot screen in its Victory Hall and more than 20 televisions, and it is the closest of the group to the gates. Buckley’s in Belltown and the Blarney Stone by Pike Place Market are the downtown standbys. Rhein Haus on Capitol Hill takes reservations and has 20-plus screens. The Admiral Pub in West Seattle has two projection screens, a dozen televisions, and pinball for the commercial breaks. Expect all of them to be full an hour before kickoff for this one.

Patriots fans in Seattle. The Boston Sports Fan Group of Seattle gathers at Fuel Sports Grill in Crown Hill, which reserves side rooms for Patriots games. If you are visiting from New England, that is your room.

Party at the Pier happened Saturday, September 5, at Pier 62: Lombardi Trophy photos, Legends, the Dancers, food trucks. If you missed it, the trophy is not making another public appearance before the game.

At the stadium

Time (PT) What happens
2:00 p.m. Ticketmaster Tailgate opens (south end)
2:30 p.m. Club and suite entrances open
3:30 p.m. Gates open
Pregame Super Bowl LX championship banner ceremony
5:20 p.m. Kickoff

The banner goes up before kickoff, not at halftime, so being in your seat by 5 p.m. is the point of going to this game. Lower-bowl seats with a view of the north end are priced accordingly on the resale market; the seating chart guide explains which 300-level sideline sections give you the same sightline at a third of the price.

Lumen Field is cashless and enforces a clear bag policy: a clear bag no bigger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or a small clutch. Tailgating is not permitted in the stadium’s own lots, and on a game day those lots are mostly reserved for season ticket holders in any case.

Getting there on a Wednesday at 5:20 is the hard part. Interstate 5 and the SoDo surface streets will be carrying commuter traffic on top of game traffic, and the neighborhood garages will fill early. Take the train: Link light rail to Stadium Station, or the Sounder game trains into King Street Station from Tacoma, Puyallup, Kent and Everett, which Sound Transit runs specifically for these nights. The parking and transit guide has the lot list, rideshare drop-off points and the ADA details if you are driving anyway. Leave the office early.

Seahawks news going in

  • Nick Emmanwori is the one to watch. The second-year safety had ankle surgery in July after an injury that lingered from last season, missed all of camp and the preseason, and has been limited to individual drills. Seattle has not put him on the physically-unable-to-perform list, which means the team expects him back soon, but the first official injury report on Sunday will say whether “soon” includes Wednesday. If he sits, Julian Love takes on more of his roles and Rodney Thomas II, acquired from Indianapolis, could see snaps at deep safety.
  • Zach Charbonnet starts the season on PUP while recovering from ACL surgery, and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III is in Kansas City now. The running back room for the opener is Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson, with Walker’s return to Lumen Field circled for October 25.
  • The offense has a new coordinator. Brian Fleury took over from Klint Kubiak this offseason; the scheme stays, the play-caller changes. Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are the pieces the rest of the league is watching. If you are buying a jersey for the opener, the Darnold and Smith-Njigba guides cover which cut and where.
  • The banner. Mike Macdonald’s second season ended with the franchise’s second title. Seattle went 14-3 in 2025, and so did New England.

Patriots news going in

  • Drake Maye says he is fully healthy. The right-shoulder injury he took in the AFC Championship Game, which many in New England believe affected the Super Bowl, is behind him by his own account, though Mike Vrabel held him out of the preseason entirely.
  • Depth is thinner than last year. New England lost second tight end Julian Hill to a season-ending knee injury in the spring and put running back Terrell Jennings on injured reserve at the roster cut. Center Ben Brown and linebacker Erick Hunter were added to the 53 this week; safety Elliott Davison and tight end Shane Zylstra joined the practice squad.
  • They know this building. Offensive assistant Chuckie Keeton and analyst Charles London both came to New England from Seattle’s 2024 staff.
  • Series history. Seattle leads the all-time series 12-9 and has won the last four meetings, including the Super Bowl. New England averaged 28.8 points a game last season, second in the league; Seattle’s defense finished sixth.

The short version

Be on the train by 3:30, in your seat by 5:00 for the banner, and if you are watching from home, NBC at 5:20 with the pregame from 4. Seattle by 3.5. Watch Emmanwori’s name on Sunday’s report, and watch whether the Patriots’ offensive line depth holds up against the front that decided the Super Bowl.
