Seahawks Super Bowl champions hat: which one the players wore, and which one to buy
The hat the Seahawks put on at Levi’s Stadium on February 8 is the single most-searched piece of Seahawks headwear in the franchise’s history, and for good reason: it is the only cap that exists because of a specific night. Here is what it is, what it comes in, and how to buy the real one.
The locker room cap
New Era, which holds the NFL’s on-field headwear license, produces one design for the champions of each Super Bowl. For Super Bowl LX the Seahawks version has a cream crown and a black visor, with “Super Bowl LX Champions” across the front, the Seahawks mark on the upper left of the crown and the NFL shield on the lower right. It is sold as the Super Bowl LX Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection, and the phrase “locker room” is literal: it is modeled on the caps handed to players and staff on the field and worn through the postgame celebration.
The locker room version is a 9SEVENTY, New Era’s stretch-snap silhouette, which means a stretch band inside the crown plus a snap closure at the back. It fits most adult heads without a size. A youth version in the same cream and black exists in the same silhouette.
Every version it comes in
New Era released the champions design across its full range, so the same front graphic is available in six fits. Which one you want depends entirely on how you like a cap to sit.
| Silhouette | Fit | Closure | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9SEVENTY (locker room) | Structured, mid crown | Stretch band plus snap | The one from the field; fits most heads |
| 59FIFTY | Structured, flat visor | Fitted, sized 6 5/8 to 8 1/4 | You know your hat size and want the classic New Era look |
| 9FIFTY | Same crown as 59FIFTY | Snapback | The 59FIFTY shape without needing a size |
| 39THIRTY | Structured, curved visor | Stretch fit, S/M, M/L, L/XL | A curved brim and a snug fit |
| 9FORTY | Low profile, curved visor | Adjustable strap | A softer, everyday cap |
| 9TWENTY | Unstructured, soft crown | Adjustable strap | The dad-hat version |
Sizing for the 59FIFTY is on the New Era guide, and the difference between a flat and a curved brim is covered in the fitted and snapback guides.
Related caps from the run
Two other New Era caps from the same season are worth knowing about, because they get mixed up with the champions hat in listings:
- NFC Champions Locker Room 9FIFTY A-Frame. The cap from the conference championship win, in New Era’s A-Frame snapback shape. It says “Conference Champions,” not “Super Bowl Champions.”
- Super Bowl LX Bound Opening Night 9SEVENTY. The media-night cap from the week before the game. It says “Super Bowl LX” without “Champions.”
Both are legitimate, both are New Era, and both are collectible in their own right. Neither is the hat the team put on after the game.
Where to buy it
The champions collection is carried by every licensed NFL retailer, which makes this one of the easier Seahawks products to find in stock. Cream and black is the flagship; some retailers also stock alternate colorways of the champions graphic on navy or black crowns.
- Locker Room 9SEVENTY at Fanatics
- Locker Room 9SEVENTY at NFL Shop
- Locker Room 9SEVENTY at the Seahawks Pro Shop
- Youth Locker Room 9SEVENTY at Fanatics
For the other five silhouettes, the Lids Seahawks hats page and the NFL Shop hats hub filter by style.
How to spot a fake
Champions merchandise attracts counterfeits within days of the game. The tells: the New Era flag is missing or printed rather than embroidered; the NFL shield hologram sticker on the underside of the visor is missing; the seller is a marketplace storefront rather than a licensed retailer; and the price is a fraction of what NFL Shop charges. Licensed champions caps are not discounted in the first year, so a bargain is the warning sign.
Should you buy it now
Yes, if you want it at all. Championship merchandise is produced in a window after the game and then not restocked in the same volume; by the following season the cream and black cap is a secondary-market item. The alternate colorways sell through first. The 9SEVENTY locker room cap, being the flagship, stays available longest.

Questions
Which hat did the Seahawks wear after winning Super Bowl LX?
The New Era Super Bowl LX Champions Locker Room cap, cream crown with a black visor, in the 9SEVENTY stretch-snap silhouette. It is the one handed out on the field in Santa Clara and sold as the Locker Room Trophy Collection.
Is there a fitted version of the champions hat?
Yes. New Era released the design across its 59FIFTY fitted, 9FIFTY snapback, 39THIRTY stretch, 9FORTY adjustable, 9SEVENTY stretch-snap and 9TWENTY unstructured silhouettes. The locker room version is the 9SEVENTY.
How do I know a champions hat is licensed?
It carries the New Era flag on the left side, an NFL shield hologram on the underside of the visor, and it is sold by NFL Shop, Fanatics, the Seahawks Pro Shop, Lids, Dick's or New Era directly. A champions cap on a marketplace at a fraction of those prices with a different brand tag is not licensed.
