Seahawks vs Chargers game day guide: Week 4 at Lumen Field

By Kyle. Published 2026-09-23, updated 2026-10-06.

Final: Seahawks 30, Chargers 23. Seattle forced four turnovers and scored 14 points off them: Connor O’Toole recovered a muffed punt to set up Emanuel Wilson’s 23-yard touchdown catch, and Ernest Jones IV’s interception set up Wilson’s 8-yard touchdown run 43 seconds before halftime. Seattle led 27-6 in the third quarter and did not score after Jason Myers’ 35-yard field goal late in it; the Chargers closed to 30-23 with 2:14 left, and Uchenna Nwosu’s strip-sack, recovered by Derick Hall, ended their last drive. Seattle is 3-1 and the Chargers are 0-4. The recap has what decided it; the guide below is as it stood on game day.

Both teams are coming off a loss, and there is a family reunion on the sideline. Seattle is 2-1 after its twelve-game winning streak ended 33-31 at Washington. The Chargers are 0-3 after losing 24-16 at Buffalo, with a new coordinator on each side of the ball and two tight ends on injured reserve. Seattle’s special teams coordinator, Jay Harbaugh, is the son of the Chargers’ head coach, Jim Harbaugh. Updated Sunday, October 4, with the game-day line, the forecast and both teams’ inactives: Ty Okada and Derwin James are out, and Trevon Diggs makes his Seahawks debut.

How to watch

CBS has the late-afternoon doubleheader window, so the game is on KIRO 7, the CBS station in Seattle, over the air, and on every live-TV streaming service that carries CBS. Paramount+ carries the live CBS feed, and NFL+ streams it on phones and tablets. Sling does not carry CBS, so it is not an option for this one. The Seahawks app carries the local radio call for listeners in the Seattle area, which is the way to hear Raible in the building.

The line

As of Sunday morning, October 4 (checked at 11:25 a.m. Pacific through ESPN), DraftKings has Seattle favored by 7, with a total of 42.5 and a moneyline of Seattle -360, Los Angeles +285, unchanged from Saturday afternoon. VegasInsider’s consensus at the same time was the same 7, 42.5 and -360; of the books it lists, Caesars is the only one at 7.5, and totals run from 42.5 to 43.5. The spread and total have not moved since Tuesday; the moneyline was -355 and +280 on Tuesday and -375 and +295 on Friday afternoon. It opened the week Monday at 6.5 and 43.5 after both teams lost, and the lookahead before Week 3 was 7 and 43.5. It was checked before the 11:55 a.m. inactives. Our pick and the injury picture are in the Week 4 preview, and every week’s line and Seattle’s record against the spread are on our odds page.

As with every game: Washington allows sports betting only in person at tribal casinos, and there is no legal online sportsbook in the state. We carry no sportsbook advertising, and the numbers are here because fans ask, not as advice.

Where to watch in Seattle

A 1:25 Sunday kickoff is the standard Seahawks bar slot, and the rooms in the team’s Bar Alliance fill by noon. The Seattle list and the statewide directory are below. If you are going to the game, the Ticketmaster Tailgate in the Lumen Field Event Center is the official pregame party, open from 10 a.m. with a game ticket: a 21-and-over sports bar, a kids’ area, a Pro Shop pop-up, Blue Thunder and the Seahawks Dancers on the main stage, and the radio pregame show broadcasting from inside.

At the stadium

No rain gear needed: the National Weather Service has Seattle sunny all afternoon, from the low 60s at the gates to about 70 by the fourth quarter, so bring sunglasses and a layer for the walk home. It is Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month (La Gente) and Legends Weekend, so former Seahawks are meeting fans at the Ticketmaster Tailgate. Halftime is the Corgi Cup, the corgi race the team has brought back. Seattle wears its all-college navy combination, the 104th time in that set and its most-worn uniform since 2012; the team has won eight straight in it. The throwbacks come out on October 25 against the Chiefs.

Time (PT) What happens
10:00 a.m. Ticketmaster Tailgate opens in the Event Center, with Seahawks Legends
10:30 a.m. Club and suite entrances open
11:30 a.m. General gates open
11:55 a.m. Inactives announced
1:25 p.m. Kickoff
Halftime The Corgi Cup

What to bring. One clear tote or clear backpack up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches (a backpack with no more than two pockets), a one-gallon clear freezer bag, or a small clutch up to 4.5 by 6.5. Walker’s Lockers near the north and south entrances hold anything else. Medical and diaper bags go through the VIP gates or the club and suite entrances for inspection.

Paying. Lumen Field is cashless. If you only have cash, the cash-to-card kiosks by Section 131 in Olympic Hall, Section 103 on the main level and in the Event Center load $1 to $500 with no fee, though kiosk cards do not work at the Amazon Just Walk Out stands. New this season is the JSN Menu, built with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, at Sections 114, 132, 230, 311 and 336; its jerk salmon nachos are on through October 25.

Getting there

Take the train. Link’s 1 and 2 Lines stop at Stadium and Chinatown/International District stations, and Pioneer Square station is a short walk. This is also one of four Sounder game-train days this season, so the commuter rail runs on a Sunday:

Sounder game train Leaves Arrives King Street Station
N Line (stops at Mukilteo, Edmonds) Everett 10:20 a.m. 11:19 a.m.
N Line Everett 10:45 a.m. 11:44 a.m.
S Line (no stops after Puyallup) Lakewood 9:51 a.m. 11:07 a.m.
S Line Sumner 10:43 a.m. 11:27 a.m.
S Line (all stops) Lakewood 10:26 a.m. 11:42 a.m.

Trains home leave King Street Station 20 and 45 minutes after the game on the N Line, and 10, 20 and 45 minutes after on the S Line, with a T Line connection at Tacoma. From West Seattle, the Water Taxi runs its Sunday schedule into downtown ($6.25 cash, $5.25 with ORCA, youth free), and the last sailing back is 7:05 p.m. King County Metro is not adding buses for the game.

Parking and tailgating. The North Lot and the Lumen Field Garage are sold by the season, so there is no single-game parking in either; the team points fans to SpotHero for the private lots around SoDo. Tailgating is not allowed anywhere on Lumen Field property. Private lots such as 8th and Holgate, about a 10-minute walk south, are where people set up. Our parking guide covers the lots and garages around the stadium.

Tickets

Season tickets are sold out, and the team has made no sold-out statement for this game; single-game tickets are listed on Seahawks.com. The club’s advice is to buy only through Seahawks.com or verified resale, and it names NFL Ticket Exchange, StubHub and SeatGeek. Our Chargers ticket guide covers where to sit for this game and where to buy, and the seating chart guide explains the bowl. We do not show prices, because we have no live feed that keeps them true; check the seller for the all-in total.

Seahawks news going in

  • The streak is over. Washington won 33-31 on Sunday. Seattle outgained the Commanders 437 yards to 258 and lost because it turned the ball over three times and Washington scored touchdowns off all three, the last a 50-yard interception return with 3:57 left. Macdonald: “We were minus-three in the takeaway department.” Our Week 3 recap has the whole game.
  • Darnold is back. In his return from the glute injury he threw for a career-high 379 yards and four touchdowns, and two interceptions. His own verdict: “I can’t turn the ball over the way that I did.” The run game is the question: 18 carries for 44 yards in the rain.
  • Smith-Njigba. Through three games he has 27 catches for 405 yards and six touchdowns; ESPN notes the six touchdowns tie Calvin Johnson’s 2011 pace.
  • Injuries to watch. Friday’s final report: Jadarian Price (chest) is out after missing Thursday’s and Friday’s practices, and Zach Charbonnet is out as expected. Ty Okada (hamstring), who has missed all three games, practiced on a limited basis Thursday and fully Friday and is questionable; linebacker Chazz Surratt (calf), new to the report Friday, is also questionable. Julian Love (calf), who missed the Washington game, practiced fully Friday and has no designation, and neither do Jarran Reed, Grey Zabel, Leonard Williams, George Holani, Nick Emmanwori, Brandon Pili or Rashid Shaheed. Macdonald said Price aggravated the Week 2 chest injury in Wednesday’s practice; on how long he will be out: “Don’t know that yet… I’m not sure how long he’s going to be out.” The full table is on the injury report.
  • Seattle’s inactives. Ty Okada and Chazz Surratt, both questionable Friday, are inactive, so Okada misses a fourth straight game and Rodney Thomas II starts in his place again. Julian Love is back after missing the Washington game. Trevon Diggs, elevated Saturday, is active and makes his Seahawks debut, and Maxen Hook is active for the second week in a row. With Price on injured reserve, Velus Jones Jr. is the depth behind George Holani and Emanuel Wilson. The other inactives are Avery Smith, Montorie Foster Jr., Nick Kallerup, Brandon Pili and Jalen Milroe, the emergency third quarterback.
  • Saturday’s moves. Seattle placed Price on injured reserve, so he must miss at least four games, signed running back Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad, and elevated cornerback Trevon Diggs and safety Maxen Hook for the game. Diggs, an All-Pro in 2021 who signed with Seattle in August, would be making his Seahawks debut. With Price out, Macdonald: “We’ve got guys that are ready to go behind him that are preparing their tails off and are good players.”
  • Charbonnet is back at practice. The Seahawks designated Zach Charbonnet to return from the physically unable to perform list on Thursday, October 1, so he can practice starting that day, and he was limited Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday Macdonald had said, “He’ll either practice tomorrow, or he won’t.” Players on that list have to miss the first four games, so the 49ers game on October 11 is the earliest he can play, and the team has 21 days to add him to the roster.
  • Harbaugh against Harbaugh, and more Michigan. Jay Harbaugh has run Seattle’s special teams since February 2024, and this is the first regular-season meeting between his unit and his father’s team; they met in the 2024 preseason. Mike Macdonald was Jim Harbaugh’s defensive coordinator at Michigan in 2021, and Seattle’s defensive run game coordinator, Chris Partridge, coached for Harbaugh at Michigan from 2015 to 2019 and again in 2023.

Chargers news going in

  • 0-2 at home, 26-14 both times. Arizona broke a 14-14 tie in the fourth quarter after a blocked punt in Week 1, and Las Vegas came from behind in Week 2 after Justin Herbert put the Chargers up 14-10 on a touchdown to Oronde Gadsden. Herbert has three interceptions and has been sacked six times in two games, and the Chargers have turned it over five times. Omarion Hampton has been the bright spot, with 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
  • New coordinators on both sides. Mike McDaniel, Miami’s head coach from 2022 to 2025, runs the offense after Harbaugh fired Greg Roman in January. Chris O’Leary, the Chargers’ safeties coach in 2024 and Western Michigan’s defensive coordinator last year, replaced Jesse Minter, who became the Ravens’ head coach.
  • The Chargers’ inactives. Derwin James (hamstring) is inactive after being listed questionable. Ladd McConkey (foot), Elijah Molden (hamstring), Trey Lance (groin) and Donte Jackson (concussion), also questionable, will play. The other inactives are the four ruled out Friday, Awosika, Kolar, Thompson and Tomlinson, plus lineman Alex Harkey and DJ Uiagalelei as the emergency third quarterback.
  • The injury list. Tight end David Njoku (fibula), center Tyler Biadasz (knee) and tackle Trey Pipkins III are on injured reserve. Tight end Charlie Kolar (forearm) is not: a Chargers headline on September 21 said he was headed there, but only Njoku was placed, and Kolar is on the active roster and Wednesday’s practice report. On Friday’s final report the Chargers ruled out Kolar, left guard Kayode Awosika (fibula), defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (hamstring) and receiver Brenen Thompson (quadricep); the club said Kolar had forearm surgery “last Monday.” Derwin James (hamstring), who has played with a broken pinky in a cast, and Ladd McConkey (foot) did not practice Thursday, were limited Friday and are questionable, along with Elijah Molden (hamstring), Trey Lance (groin) and Donte Jackson (concussion). Khalil Mack, Bud Dupree, Justin Eboigbe and Keaton Mitchell practiced fully Friday and have no designation. On Saturday the Chargers elevated tight end Patrick Herbert, Justin Herbert’s younger brother, and outside linebacker Caleb Murphy from the practice squad.
  • Last season. The Chargers went 11-6 and lost the wild-card game at New England, 16-3. Their first-round pick this spring was edge rusher Akheem Mesidor, 22nd overall, to go with Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.
  • Faces Seattle knows. Outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, now a Seahawk, spent 2018 to 2021 with the Chargers, and Seattle traded a 2027 sixth-round pick for Chargers cornerback Avery Smith on August 30. Chargers receivers coach Sanjay Lal coached Seattle’s receivers in 2020 and from 2022 to 2023.
  • 24-16 at Buffalo. The Chargers’ defense forced five turnovers, including two interceptions by rookie safety Genesis Smith, and sacked Josh Allen four times, and they still lost: the offense scored one touchdown, Herbert was intercepted at the goal line, and James Cook ran for 154 yards. Herbert went 20 of 34 for 226 yards. Harbaugh: “We did not win the game. That’s painful, that hurts.” He also said there was “no disconnect” with McDaniel’s offense.
  • Forty-four points in three games. The Chargers scored 14, 14 and 16. The defense has been good enough to win on Sunday; the offense has not.

The short version

CBS at 1:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 4. Seattle is favored by 7 with a total of 42.5, both teams coming off losses, and the Chargers 0-3. Gates open at 11:30, and the Ticketmaster Tailgate with the Seahawks Legends opens at 10. There is no tailgating on stadium property, so take Link or a Sounder game train. Stay in your seat at halftime for the Corgi Cup. Watch the Harbaughs before kickoff.
