How to watch

NBC has Sunday Night Football, so the game is on KING 5 over the air in Seattle and on the live-TV streaming services that carry NBC. NBC’s Sunday night games also stream on Peacock, which needs a subscription, and NFL+ streams the game on phones and tablets. The Seahawks app carries the local radio call for listeners in the Seattle area. Mike Tirico calls the play-by-play on NBC with Cris Collinsworth as the analyst and Melissa Stark on the sideline. On Seattle Sports 710 AM and KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM, Steve Raible and Dave Wyman call the game with Jen Mueller on the sideline; nationally, Westwood One has Ryan Radtke and Mike Golic, and SiriusXM carries it on channels 85 or 192. Crews and channels are per the club’s how-to-watch post of Tuesday, October 20.

The line

As of Tuesday morning, October 20, at 6:40 a.m. Pacific, DraftKings has Seattle by 2.5, with a total of 42.5 and a moneyline of Seattle -135, Kansas City +114, per ESPN’s game data, and VegasInsider’s consensus is the same. Every book VegasInsider tracks has Seattle -2.5; the totals run from 41.5 to 42.5. It opened Seattle by 3 with a total of 45.5. The spread has been at 2.5 since October 13, apart from a few hours at 1.5 late on October 18, and the total came down from 44.5 to 42.5 that night, after Kansas City’s 22-6 win over the Chargers, per VegasInsider’s line-movement chart. ESPN’s matchup predictor, a model and not a line, now gives Seattle a 46.8 percent chance to win, down from 51.3 on Saturday. The injury reports from Wednesday can move it. Our pick is in the Week 7 preview, and the Seahawks odds page carries the line for every game.

As with every game: Washington allows sports betting only in person at tribal casinos, and there is no legal online sportsbook in the state. We carry no sportsbook advertising, and the numbers are here because fans ask, not as advice.

At the stadium

Gate times for a 5:20 p.m. kickoff are not announced yet; the club usually posts its game-day guide the Friday before. For the 1:25 p.m. games this season, general gates opened about two hours before kickoff, with club and suite entrances and the Ticketmaster Tailgate earlier. Inactives come 90 minutes before kickoff, at 3:50 p.m. A night game in late October in Seattle can be cold and wet; we will add the forecast in game week.

What to bring. One clear tote or clear backpack up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches (a backpack with no more than two pockets), a one-gallon clear freezer bag, or a small clutch up to 4.5 by 6.5. Walker’s Lockers near the north and south entrances hold anything else. Medical and diaper bags go through the VIP gates or the club and suite entrances for inspection.

Paying. Lumen Field is cashless. If you only have cash, the cash-to-card kiosks by Section 131 in Olympic Hall, Section 103 on the main level and in the Event Center load $1 to $500 with no fee, though kiosk cards do not work at the Amazon Just Walk Out stands.

Getting there

Take the train. Link’s 1 and 2 Lines stop at Stadium and Chinatown/International District stations, and Pioneer Square station is a short walk. Whether Sound Transit runs Sounder game trains or adds service for a Sunday night game has not been announced; we will add it when it is.

Parking and tailgating. The North Lot and the Lumen Field Garage are sold by the season, so there is no single-game parking in either; the team points fans to SpotHero for the private lots around SoDo. Tailgating is not allowed anywhere on Lumen Field property. Our parking guide covers the lots and garages around the stadium.

Tickets

Season tickets are sold out. The club’s advice is to buy only through Seahawks.com or verified resale, and it names NFL Ticket Exchange, StubHub and SeatGeek. Our Chiefs ticket guide covers where to sit for this game and where to buy, and the seating chart guide explains the bowl. We do not show prices, because we have no live feed that keeps them true; check the seller for the all-in total.

Seahawks news going in

  • 3-3 after Denver. Seattle lost 17-14 in overtime at Denver on Thursday night. It trailed 14-3 at halftime, tied it on George Holani’s touchdown run, Sam Darnold’s two-point pass to Rashid Shaheed and Jason Myers’ 34-yard field goal with three seconds left, and lost on a Wil Lutz field goal after Darnold’s second interception, in overtime. Seattle has lost three of four, all by three points or fewer. Darnold: “I just think it’s B.S. for me to keep turning the ball over.” The Week 6 recap has the rest.
  • The season so far. Seattle beat New England 13-10 and won 31-7 at Arizona, lost 33-31 at Washington, beat the Chargers 30-23, lost 32-29 to the 49ers and lost 17-14 in overtime at Denver.
  • The extra days. Mike Macdonald on having ten days before the Chiefs: “Oh, they’re incredibly valuable.” His main concern, he said, is “Why the ball’s in jeopardy so much on offense,” and “the quarterback is getting hit way too much.” Darnold was sacked five times at Denver, after five against the 49ers.
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Twelve catches for 134 yards at Denver, his fifth 100-yard game in six.
  • Injuries. On Monday, Mike Macdonald said tight end Elijah Arroyo, who hurt his shoulder at Denver, is “going to be out a significant amount of time. How long that is, I’m not sure,” and the team had not yet decided whether he goes on injured reserve. Right guard Anthony Bradford was designated to return to practice on Monday and practiced; Macdonald: “if he has a good week, he’s going to play a significant amount, if not the whole game.” Zach Charbonnet, still on the physically unable to perform list, will get a full week of practice: “there’s a possibility that you could see him on Sunday in some capacity.” On linebacker Drake Thomas (ankle): “He’s doing well. No update for Drake, but we’ll see on Wednesday.” Rookie Jadarian Price, on injured reserve, is eligible to return after this game. All per the club’s report on Macdonald’s Monday press conference.
  • Practice squad. On Monday, October 19, Seattle signed fullback Jackson Acker and tight end Josiah Deguara to the practice squad and released running back Dontae McMillan and receiver Malick Meiga, per the club.

Chiefs news going in

  • 5-0. Kansas City beat Denver 31-10 in Week 1 and Indianapolis 33-30 in Week 2 at home, then won 24-10 at Miami and 30-27 at Las Vegas. It had a bye in Week 5 and beat the Chargers 22-6 at home on October 18. Per the club, it is the AFC’s only unbeaten team (Chiefs recap).
  • Kenneth Walker III. The running back Seattle drafted in 2022 is on the Chiefs’ roster and wears No. 9. He ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns against the Chargers and leads the NFL with 665 rushing yards, per the club (10 quick facts). Andy Reid after the game: “He’s a stud. I mean, he knows how to run the ball, and knows how to set up runs.” October 25 is his first game at Lumen Field as an opponent.
  • Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are both on the Chiefs’ roster this season.
  • Chiefs injuries. Per the club’s October 19 recap, tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion) left the October 18 game against the Chargers early, and tight end Travis Kelce “sustained an ankle injury early in the contest, but he managed to play through it and didn’t miss any time.” On Kansas City’s Friday, October 16 report for that game, receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring, knee) and tackle Josh Simmons (back) are out and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee) is questionable; Patrick Mahomes (knee) was a full participant all week with no designation. Their report for this game starts Wednesday, October 21.
  • More to come. We add both teams’ injury reports from Wednesday, October 21, and the coaches’ comments as the week goes on.
